Burlesca

Burlesca is a small island within the city-state of Bellezza, located in the lagoons surrounding the city. It is the second largest island in the lagoon, after the island of Merlino. The Italian equivalent is the Venetian island of Burano.

Lace

All the houses on the island are painted in bright colours, except for the white house where Paola and Gentile Bellini reside. The main products of the island are lace and pastries, which are brought and sold to inhabitants on Torrone and Merlino in the summer, as well as any tourists that come to Burlesca.

Notable Residents

• Paola Bellini: Grandmother of the current Duchessa of Bellezza, she is a famous lacemaker.
• Gentile Bellini: Grandfather of the current Duchessa of Bellezza; he makes delicious cakes which are served on the main island at Fiorentino Rossi's restaurant in Bellezza.
